The Christmas exhibition in the Doll’s House Museum also features an impressive accompanying programme. For example, there will be regular readings from Charles Dickens’s Christmas tale. The book “A Christmas Carol”, published in 1843, ranks among the most successful works of world literature and has been made into many films.

Short carol singing concerts will also be given as part of the “Victorian Christmas” exhibition. Carol singing is a typical British tradition, now kept up mainly in the USA. On the Doll’s House Museum stand at the Christmas market on Barfüsserplatz, carol singers will be encouraging visitors to hum along to popular melodies.
