Santa & Co.

with tempting contents
24th November 2007 - 3rd February 2008

The Doll's House Museum is putting on an exceptional Christmas Exhibition: a uniquely diverse display of special Christmas Candy Containers from the period between 1910 and 1960. Each of the exhibits conceals a little secret: it serves as a container for confectionery. For example, Saint Nicholas or his colleague, chubby Santa Claus, as well as wonderful angels with porcelain heads, sweet “snow babies” and the wintery-looking “Niko” made from white cotton wool. One of Saint Nicholas’s companions is particularly striking: the figure known in Switzerland as “Schmutzli” or “Krampus” in Austria.
